 The association was formed in
March, 2000 by a handful
of veteran narcotics investigators from around the state.
These investigators long recognized the need for
an organization dedicated to the needs of Narcotics Enforcement.
Their goals were to form an organization to provide support
and improvements to law enforcement's efforts in the area
of drug enforcement. They wanted to build an association
that would provide cutting edge training for its members,
promote and facilitate narcotics intelligence exchange
and to provide a medium for sharing of resources between
law enforcement agencies throughout the State of Georgia.
G.N.O.A. is accomplishing these
goals.
From the handful of charter members who put the
organization together in March of 2000, the membership
has grown to well over 100. The Georgia Narcotics Officers Association
held its first training in October of 2000 at no cost to attendees.
The Drug Summit, as it was called, was a great success
bringing together Narcotics Investigators from around
the state representing City, County, State
and Federal law enforcement agencies.
There is still a long way to go
but the organization
is working hard everyday to improve and grow.

Mission Statement
To promote professionalism,
training, and exchange
of ideas and information among law enforcement agencies
and support groups who are charged with combating the use
and abuse of illegal drugs in the State of Georgia.
